I am mainly just not the enemy of the microswitches in my mouse lol

Ladybird is slowly becoming useable the last time i looked, so there is some movement out there, but it's slow and the future of the open web browser and the open web itself is currently very uncertain.
I have to disagree. Easing access is the thing that is needed to ensure that Open Source AI isn't pushed to the fringes of society.
Even Browser addons are a hurdle for the common user. You are speaking from the perspective of someone who knows how to do things.
Making sure everyone regardless of technical aptitude can use OS AI is the only thing guaranteeing that closed source apps that simplify access don't take over everything.
Although this would also enable the alternate scenario of reducing incoming sunlight simply by turning them around. This project both doesn't think far enough and much too far at the same time.
Also, we would need to finally abolish borders and create a world government for effective usage of such systems; this would enable the designation of areas where supercharged amounts of solar power are collected 24/7, while reducing solar input to areas experiencing heat waves.
I am GenX, but even i am guilty of using auto-clickers - for things like cookie clicker. i nearly always have some kind of idle game running, currently it's Swarm Simulator but that doesn't need an autoclicker lol
The devices themselves aren't the issue (as it is with most tools), but the environment they exist in leads to societally toxic outcomes.
The existence of smartphones does not imply the lived reality of tracking, privacy violations, ads ads ads, monopoly-like software distribution and shutting out people for not having a smartphone from important services.
The latter is a consequence of unchecked capitalism and authoritarianism - it's a policy issue.
Well, that article really made me consider getting a dedicated music device again after decades of using my smartphone.
That would be the ideal case. - making sure that the obligations that come with providing living space are always equivalent to the rent, while mandating to operate efficiently.
Which actually is simply a non-profit. Prohibit renting out apartments and houses if you aren't one.
(those bastards at blackstone would shit themselves when confronted with such legislation)
My heart bleeds for the poor landlords. they will actually have to fix shit like mold and vermin now, and can't put surprise charges towards rent! How are those shitstains supposed to get an effortless income now?
I know. They are very tragic figures.
2B and 9S are my spirit animal.
Those Companies are the WORST of all, because they do everything to guilttrip you into putting in more hours and sacrificing your personal life and wellbeing so that the "family" thrives. It's fucking exploitation of people with morals.
