'Allegedly' could single wordedly build a pyramid

[–] NarrativeBear@lemmy.world 33 points 2 months ago (3 children)

I'm a millionaire "allegedly"

[–] luthis@lemmy.nz 26 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You're using the word wrong. Allegedly means 'definitely did it without a shadow of a doubt, but for legal reasons we have to put this word in'

[–] NarrativeBear@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

I did use it incorrectly, allegedly.

[–] EvergreenGuru@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

I’m a quadrillionaire allegedly.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Fitting username...

Unrelated, i love your username.

[–] dis_honestfamiliar@lemmy.sdf.org 97 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Makes you think about that spacex certification data.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 78 points 2 months ago

Everything he touches is either a lie or becomes one. It's why he and the orange pedo got along and then didn't, neither one lives in the same zip code as objective reality.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

they really do blow up the most expensive rockets

[–] eleijeep@piefed.social 54 points 2 months ago (1 children)

When will someone be facing criminal charges for this?

[–] 1984@lemmy.today 12 points 2 months ago
[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 44 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Of course they did. And there’s no consequences because muskrat embedded himself amongst every government agency

[–] ExcessShiv@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 2 months ago (2 children)

This is for approval in Europe, I don't believe he is embedded in European government agencies, that seems to be a US problem.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 months ago

And yet nobody has been arrested…

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago

He is a little bit, on the far right side

[–] tirateimas@lemmy.pt 38 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 20 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Me.
I thought they'd just bribe and threaten the people checking instead.

[–] nyan@lemmy.cafe 7 points 2 months ago

Thing is, it just takes one person with a spine to completely upend things if you try to do it that way. Too risky.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 37 points 2 months ago

Enough people have died getting literally cooked in Tesla cars, unable to get out, for me to never want to get in one of them on purpose.

[–] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 32 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] Strider@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Yeah really, no way! I am shocked!

[–] brendansimms@lemmy.world 32 points 2 months ago

'Showed cooked data' .... you mean 'Committed Fraud'

[–] Strider@lemmy.world 31 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Hyperloop is up and running and we've already been to mars, right??

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 months ago

My solar roof is getting installed right after the traffic tunnels are built, right?

[–] skisnow@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I can't believe he doesn't get more shit for that whole Hyperloop debacle.

The hype around it was a big part of his whole elevation in the media to "Real-life Tony Stark" status. Engineers who called it out as impractical half-baked nonsense were ignored or ridiculed, but now that they've been proven correct everyone's just moved on and forgotten about the whole thing.

[–] Jiral@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Hyperloop was nonsense from day one. That's why all Musk did way publish some vague white paper and hype it up while staying himself clear of any of that. Its only purpose was to kill California High Speed rail anyway.

[–] skisnow@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The conventional wisdom is that he's still a genius but was masterfully playing 4-D chess.

Personally I don't believe it, I think he genuinely did think he was being a genius and that it was going to happen.

[–] Jiral@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I doubt that. No 4D-chess required. He absolutely refused to invest anything into Hyperloop from the start nor did any of his companies do work on it. He may have been high on his own supply with rockets and self drivingbut certainly not with Hyperloop. Just follow the money.

[–] Strider@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

His goal achieved: blocking rail. More wasn't important.

Since Trump and the tech bros I learned a lot about swarm behavior and also neurodivergence.

For one, the (human) swarm is generally really dumb, so roughly the lowest common denominator. That itself is not the issue, but it forgets. It's really really forgetful and easily distracted.

So just throw up the next idea and everything will focus on that. It's even worse that the media is mostly owned by a few, adding to that.

Basically all this results in enabling this behavior. I remember, but most do not. That's where neurodivergence comes in, if we're focused we do not get diatracted. We remember better in that case, but few listen.

Oh and those that were ridiculed also never get an apology. So can you blame them for decoupling from the fate of humanity?

One dead yesterday in Texas...FSD didn't even slow down and ran into a house.

The fucking idiot using FSD didn't die, just someone's grandma sitting in her living room. She wasn't even wearing a helmet or a safety vest!

[–] xthexder@l.sw0.com 5 points 1 month ago

Wtf, it sounds like the Tesla was going 60+mph in a residential area... Is this another case of the driver holding the throttle down preventing autopilot from braking? That's what happened on the first case Tesla lost too

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 15 points 2 months ago

What? No way, Elon Musk is a saint and they should change the face of that statue in Rio de Janeiro of some unknown wimp to his! 😭

I mean I don't really have to tell you it's satire, do I? Boil him, mash him, put him in a stew.

[–] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I hope he doesn't cook data to get manned Mars shots approved. Or some astronauts will get cooked.

[–] luthis@lemmy.nz 4 points 2 months ago

Anyone who actually goes along with that wouldn't be a real astronaut, just a sycophant, so.. I'm ok with it.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Fuck Elon and all of his garbage (imho)

[–] luthis@lemmy.nz 3 points 2 months ago

Allegedly fuck Elon

[–] BioDriver@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago
[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

yeah, my trike gets me to the next town and back. it's always the teslas that don't give room on the road or swerve at me on 25mph roads when i'm doing 20. it's either the FSD or the driver, you decide.

[–] darkmogool@feddit.org 5 points 2 months ago

Yeah… no shit…

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Tesla: "chat, are we cooked?"

[–] fodor@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago

Allegedly? ... They've been cooking the books for years about all sorts of things.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

What the Nazi is a criminal. Who would think it?
