The water park I used to go to had one of these until it was demolished for apartments, then I saw one at lake Compounce
Damn never thought I’d see a lake compounce reference
Unbelievably loud and smells like chlorine.
But the 5 year old in me is super excited.
But it's a beautiful loud.
5 year old you didn't know or care how much of that water is just bodily fluids and emanations and soaked diaper water.
Rightly so. Because it's a ridiculous low percentage of the total water of the pool, lol.
But it is not zero, that is the point.
It's hardly zero anywhere humans traverse
The amount of shit in the air you breathe is also not zero. And you still breathe it don't you
I would love to be under there sipping a gin and tonic, but not sure how to get under there without it being topped off with chlorinated water.
Maybe this is why some drinks are served with little umbrellas.
This was the most Jerry Seinfeld comment I've ever seen on Lemmy. Bravo!
I'm here all week, folks.
Actually, I don't think you ever leave.

My brother married a Mexican woman and during their first Thanksgiving together, sitting around the table with family members, my brother made a joking comment saying "now it's time for the Airing of Grievances!"
His wife's brother (who apparently wasn't a Seinfeld fan) misheard him as having said "the Aryan Grievances" and was like "what sort of fucked up white people shit is this?!"
Hope he greets his in-laws with Hail'o, just to mess with them.

Where I live it's illegal to be drinking in public on beaches but you see

a lot which are universally understood to contain alcohol of some variety
Core memory unlocked. My childhood public pool had one of these and it was incredibly loud
I absolutely have permanent hearing damage from one of these things. Worth it though

professional with installation would click-for-quote expensive.
Needs a big ass-pump.
You could diy it, but you'll need to be multi-talented
The dome is just fiberglass and expoy. The post would probably be best as steel. Dedicated pool pump, you'd have a hell of a time anchroing it into an existing pool.
The completely masculine urge to sit down in the shallow water underneath the rain mushroom.
Masculinity is overrated anyway
Machismo is overrated.
There are honorable qualities of traditional masculinity that are grossly underrated these days. Like honesty and the view that a 'real' man takes responsibility for their work and gets shit done. Or that a real man respects women and their sometimes very different struggles.
Why is honesty and responsibility gendered?
They're saying the ideal man has those qualities, not that everyone with those qualities is a man.
"I like waffles"
"so what, you hate pancakes?"
you're the only person asserting they are. having a trait be associated with an ideal of a gender doesn't mean it's an exclusive association.
In my experience, honesty and responsibility are not gendered, they’re endangered.
On Planet Coaster 314 dollars. So that is the real price too
I can't imagine how many gallons of water it goes through at a time though.
edit: lol I'm dumb. Its just moving around the water that's already there. Still though, better add a pool to the supply list.
Without the white spots to indicate an amanita muscaria, this mushroom spout is fucking garbage and should be rejected as such. Have they even drank the piss from reindeer in falll? I think not.
Avoid the mushroom fountain if you ever go to Bonnaroo. It looks nice, but the water is untreated and recycled.
Practically all water themed activities with kids are great places to see what disease or fungus you can catch. Seen a kid shit on the ground at a splash pad and they just mopped it up and turned the water back on.
Also those fountains on the ground are essentially bidets because most kids don't wipe their ass well.
Sure but they also chlorinate the absolute crap out of them so while it's gross you're unlikely to actually catch something. The chlorine just destroys your hair and clothing and skin.
There's an outdoor public pool in the park near my home, and in the 'kids section' there is one of these. Very popular this time of year.
A reverse umbrella.
