Just like CGI, you only notice it when it’s bad

[–] TubularTittyFrog@lemmy.world 12 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

reminds me of my parents

[–] Bahnd@lemmy.world 90 points 3 weeks ago

Ahh... Survivorship bias, we meet again.

[–] cally@piefed.blahaj.zone 80 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Another reason why I hate AI: you couldn't trust images on the internet before, but the likelihood someone Photoshopped it in a realistic way was very low. Nowadays you just can't trust any images on the internet at all, I don't want to play detective.

Simply trust no one and nothing

[–] HereIAm@lemmy.world 21 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That's exactly what someone I shouldn't be trusting would say!

Wanna get loneliness epidemic?

Because that's how you get loneliness epidemic.

[–] Holytimes@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

We already have a loneliness epidemic where have you been alone under a rock?!

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

It's getting worse, thanks to AI.

[–] kuberoot@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 3 weeks ago

And if someone photoshopped something in a realistic way, it was impressive, like "damn, they got me too!", something to appreciate as art.

This is only the tip of the iceberg.

In a few years all pics, movies, music, books, news, anything and anyone you don't see in person will be completely indistinguishable from AI. And most of it will be.

You won't even know if the Senator's face on your tv screen belongs to a real person.

The new front on the "war" for/on your minds will open. A culmination of all physical, informational, cultural, economic, narrative, and digital reality control systems will converge.

Even more so than now, people will have no choice but to embrace whatever schema of reality they can access because there will be no way to discern real truth from the manufactured.

Paranoia will eventually give way to a rather natural "double think" envisioned by Orwell. Tropey but nevertheless prophetic.

Thats some peak Running Man stuff…

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 weeks ago

We'll have a kind of "Stream of Consciousness" moment, the episode of The Outer Limits about the only human who can't access the direct-brain interface 'net...

Let's train an AI on bad ms paints

[–] kinther@lemmy.world 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

All I have is GIMP and it is like wanting a tricycle but getting a rocket ship

Pinta, KolourPaint, etc. Many of them out there that are pretty simple (for anyone who wants to know).

I really dislike Plato.

I dislike even more how fucking right that dude was.

At least sometimes.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 17 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Really? I’m seeing them more frequently because I’m getting better at identifying them.

"Oh look, the point! Up there! Quick, it's getting awa... aww, shit. You missed it."

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 18 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

You're not fooling me. This response was AI generated

[–] Abyssian@lemmy.world 58 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh shit, I tested it with an AI detector and you're right!

[–] BoosBeau@lemmy.world 18 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Is there a test to test if the test is AI generated?

[–] xkbx@startrek.website 11 points 3 weeks ago

yes but it requires an AI-generated image

[–] Smaile@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)
