I'm pretty sure this is wrong. Like obviously it's a bad thing that they are making it harder to distribute apps through 3rd parties but they aren't stopping you from sideloading unsigned apps. They are introducing an additional step to unlock your phone to allow unsigned apps. Yes it is annoying and no I do not agree with what they are doing. But they are not removing unsigned app support from all android devices.

The new step will be deciding how long you wish to allow unsigned apps to be installable on your device (either 7 days or indefinitely) and then it requires you to wait 24 hours before you can start to install apps without Google developer signing.

These rules do suck, and it is a bad thing, but lying or exaggerating what is happening will not make them reverse course. It only justifies them when they say "it's not that bad and it's for your protection."

Different providers? Plex has hosted content and a handful of features that jellyfin doesn't. Also some people have the lifetime Plex pass. Also also, it may be a hosted Plex/jellyfin server that OP doesn't operate locally and hosts different content.

I don't disagree with that. I just disagree with the placement of the outrage.

Hank hasn't been in charge at scishow for a while. When he is on scishow now, his job is read and present an article written by someone else. The fact checking and editorializing was done before he arrived for shooting the video. He also has publicly said it's not his place to jump back into that company and grab back power he has given up. Being mad at Hank for the knitting thing is insane if you are familiar with how scishow works.

There's a bit more to it than that and I mostly agree with what you're saying but I was in a bind and people who I've dropped everything to help in short notice, did not reciprocate. That's all.

I recently moved out of my apartment into a new place and when I reached out to friends to help me move some larger pieces of furniture, I suddenly found myself in the middle of a scheduling conundrum where people were telling me what time and day they were individually free. I was trying to coordinate with them to see when was best for them. Then it hit me, I was asking for a favor not planning a party. It then became very easy for me to just consider most of them busy. I moved 90% of it by myself. I got one friend to help me move 2 pieces of furniture that I could not physically disassemble and that was that. That friend gets a reward for the help and I'm still a little bitter that everyone else was too busy.

Asking for help moving will show you really how far some people will go for you.

I pulled the cloud modem out of my car. It drives just fine without a connection to the internet or cell towers.

Just saying, telling everyone they smell like shit is not an excellent way to make friends. But you do you.
