Same people who looked you dead in the face and said, “It’s government overreach to require masks!” BTW

[–] GladiusB@lemmy.world 1 points 50 minutes ago

In all fairness they only understood 4 of the 10 words they repeated.

My political affiliation is try, convict, and execute every politician, except maybe a couple dozen. With due process. Pretty sure I can say that still.

Isn't it pretty easy in the US?

For some reason people need to register with their government what their political affiliation is. Not sure if any other country in the world does this but it's stupid as fuck for every reason.

[–] deaconblackhorse@lemmy.world 13 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

You don't need to register your political affiliation in the us. You can register as independent. As far as i know it just dictates what ballot you'll get (which is silly)

[–] Kyrias@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

That's still registering your political affiliation with the government.

Which is still fucked up.

[–] architect@thelemmy.club 1 points 59 minutes ago

It’s unaffiliated. Independent is a party. Unaffiliated is no party.

[–] voytrekk@sopuli.xyz 5 points 5 hours ago

It varies based on state. In Ohio, I select the ballot I want for primaries when I go to vote despite not being registered for any political party.

[–] 666dollarfootlong@lemmy.world 7 points 6 hours ago

Yea it never made any sense to me

Oh look. They did another fascism.

[–] BooBees@fedinsfw.app 28 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

But I was told we were overreacting when we said Trump was a fascist and would do fascism.

[–] skvlp@feddit.nl 24 points 8 hours ago

Yeah, but it’s not like the fascists had their plan written down in a todo list or anything. Like a project or something. Scheduled for 2025 maybe.

Meanwhile, when I ask my mother her opinion about this: "but Hunter Biden made so many corrupt deals and he was doing crack!"

[–] Zron@lemmy.world 14 points 5 hours ago

Yeah, whoever voted for that hunter guy must have been an idiot

I respect that he pays sex-workers for sex and doesn’t offer them gigs on TV shows that he never intends to deliver on in order to score a freebie by cornering a woman in a hotel room. Rape by another name in my opinion.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 37 minutes ago (1 children)

MTG was obsessed with his dong.

[–] DaveyRocket@lemmy.world 1 points 34 minutes ago

Most sane MTG obsession.

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

He didn’t.

[–] AfterlifeAdventures@lemmy.world 28 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Kushner would be my reply as I called the old folks homes

[–] RaoulDuke25@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 10 hours ago

Trump jr definitely fits the bill too.

[–] Techromantik@discuss.tchncs.de 12 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Poison their data? Everyone change their political affiliation to NPA. Then vote however you want.

[–] spacegoat@lemmy.world 17 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Many states have closed primaries

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I think you can freely change affiliations in those states prior to the election, as a lot of people join the other party to vote for the guy that they think is less electable when they know their own guy already is going to get it.

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 5 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

to vote for the guy that they think is less electable when they know their own guy already is going to get it.

I can't even compute why anyone would want to do that, much less imagine ‘a lot of people’ doing it. Is that, like, throwing a pity bone to the less-electable guy? Could this be how the US got Trump?

Yall's political shenanigans are fun, but you need ranked voting yesterday.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 3 points 2 hours ago

Oh it makes a lot of sense if the ones pushing the strategy know the electorate. The democrats don't clearly. It is a part of how the prez got elected I am sure, but if done right it is quite effective.

Yep. Most states already do this and have for a long time. It’s not freely accessible and searchable, but you only need to know the information of the person to find more info on the states page.

I’m a socialist liberal who thinks Donald Trump should be struck into a conscious but unable to communicate vegetative state. Ya fuck wits, register that.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 3 points 5 hours ago

I want the government to treat this epidemic of lead deficiency in our political and business class. With due process.

Is there a party for that? That is going to be popular-er as we go here. The fuck all the politicians to death party if you will. With due process.

I would love for him to get locked in syndrome for a few years before he dies. It would be hell on Earth for a narcissist.

[–] Stupidmanager@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Yes!!! This is even better. Watch him as he spends days fuming at the tv as they talk about how he was the worst president ever

[–] Zarobi@aussie.zone 1 points 3 hours ago

What about stranded on a deserted island a'la Cast Away?

Vegetables don’t talk, let alone spew toxic word shit

[–] Monument@piefed.world 5 points 10 hours ago

They are, technically.

Do you have confidence the government would actually give them to the public?

It never hurts unless you try, but I suspect filling a FOIA for them will land you on the list.
