I've been boycotting EA for decades now, but I always felt like I was the only one when I talked to people outside of specific circles. Have people grown their spines or has their quality dropped enough that no one wants their shit anymore?

Because Swartz wanted a free and open web and the powers that be wanted control over every major social media website. This was around the same that moot showed up in Epstein's emails and would later sell his site. All in the run up to the 2016 election. Now think about how /r/thedonald stayed on the site for so long.

That exists already. Archive.org has a digitization service, but then archive.org would put a public copy up and the AIbros wouldn't be the sole owners of that training data.

There's also methods to digitize books without destroying the book and for the purpose of AI training that should be more then sufficient. AIbros are just so arrogant to think that other people haven't solved the problem already or that their time is too valuable to be slowed by proper methods.
