That's how you do what? Lie?

[–] DupaCycki@lemmy.world 38 points 23 hours ago (4 children)

Absolutely insane how little it takes for people to worship a mega corporation that was caught abusing employees and publicly lying for years just the other day.

I wonder why the video game industry is so bad.

apolitical gamers being apolitical but will cry when they get fired from their jobs because they have no idea what class solidarity is because that is too political

[–] luciferofastora@feddit.org 8 points 19 hours ago

I'll be happy for a free update to a game I already bought long ago. Can't take back the purchase anyway, might as well take the freebie.

[–] MrNesser@lemmy.world 16 points 23 hours ago

free shit == good

[–] Axolotl_cpp@feddit.it 3 points 17 hours ago

Oh damn i didn't knew about that, thx

[–] Enzy@feddit.nu 13 points 19 hours ago

And all their games are on PC at launch.

[–] Venator@lemmy.nz 3 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago) (1 children)

Tbf though it looked good enough on release that no one would rebuy it anyway...

If they really want to remaster something it would make more sense to do witcher 1 or 2...

[–] imsure@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

my thoughts too. it's not that big of a remaster to take money for it

the graphics have been updated recently and the gameplay tweaks are not that extensive

i think they are just refreshing the game a bit before releasing the new dlc

[–] nuko147@lemmy.world 11 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Man, it's getting a fucking free expansion with 20-40 hours gameplay... (to connect witcher 3 and 4)

[–] Nobody@anarchist.nexus 5 points 9 hours ago

The last two W3 DLCs were extremely good. They’re going to be motivated for this one. I just hope the no delays crowd and the needs to be perfect at launch crowds can work things out.

Spoiler alert: the no delays crowd is wrong.

[–] Ghoelian@piefed.social 49 points 1 day ago (7 children)

Didn't witcher 3 already get a remaster a few years ago?

[–] daniskarma@lemmy.dbzer0.com 79 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Yeah, we had a first remaster but what about second remaster?

[–] grozzle@lemmy.zip 49 points 1 day ago

in image form

[–] djdarren@piefed.social 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't think they know about second remaster.

[–] VonReposti@feddit.dk 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What about revamped? Enhanced? Definitive Edition? Refreshed? They know about them, don’t they?

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 2 points 19 hours ago

Gets hit by a thrown high res texture pack mod

[–] kieron115@startrek.website 3 points 18 hours ago

Not a full remastere, it got a "RTX" upgrade? They added ray tracing and stuff but they kept the same assets otherwise (no new models, textures, etc).

[–] orbituary@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 day ago

reremasterer

Got it on sale for a few bugs. Never played. Maybe I should start over.

[–] NeatNit@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 5 hours ago

Bought it on Switch, played a bit and never got that far.

Bought it on GOG too, played even less. It's cool that save sync works between them.

I, too, hope to start over and actually play it through this time. I'm definitely going to like it, it's just hard to get in the habit of playing it and it's not the kind of game you can just casually launch every couple of months.

[–] kuiskaaja@lemmy.ml 6 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

which store accepts bugs, and what kind of bugs are we talking about?

[–] Samsy@lemmy.ml 1 points 16 hours ago (1 children)
[–] kuiskaaja@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

i was hoping for a funny response ._.

[–] Samsy@lemmy.ml 1 points 34 minutes ago* (last edited 32 minutes ago)

OK how about paid with 3 steam-fly's on gog-bug.

[–] SailorFuzz@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago (7 children)

My poor old PC and card were already struggling before the remaster. Now it won't be able to play it at all and I can't afford to upgrade cuz every PC part costs a mortgage.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 5 points 23 hours ago (3 children)

Just build your own transistors out of mica you sift from your local stream, dude. Seriously. I'm tired of hearing all these complaints about the unavailability of computer parts. Back in my day we used to build our own computers out of whatever scraps we found in the fridge from last night's dinner. Kids these days just need to bootstrap themselves some high-performance GPUs and stop complaining.

(/S, in case it wasn't obvious)

Weren’t the extra graphics from the remaster update an optional setting?

[–] Venator@lemmy.nz 1 points 14 hours ago

It might make some effects more efficient too, depending how it's implemented now and was previously, so it might be worth trying again and messing with the settings...

[–] Ghoelian@piefed.social 9 points 1 day ago

The previous one was, yes, so I'd guess they're going in the same direction here

This and the new DLC makes me hope that CP2077 might get a second DLC sometime.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 4 points 22 hours ago

Sames. Phantom Liberty was fucking solid.

[–] ramble81@lemmy.zip 6 points 23 hours ago (4 children)

I never really got in to the game. It was a bit too open and easy to go off the rails and then have trouble getting back to things.

[–] silasmariner@programming.dev 8 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Sorry I killed your child and charged you for it. Gwent?

[–] YellowParenti@lemmy.wtf 2 points 17 hours ago

Most of my playthroughs end up being Gwent runs.

[–] Noodle07@lemmy.world 4 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I have the opposite problem lol, I dont like playing geralt i rather play my own character like in skyrim

[–] ramble81@lemmy.zip 3 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I never really got into “roll your own character” games. I was never creative enough and would always get stuck on that. Probably why I never got into D&D.

[–] SarahValentine@pawb.social 4 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

They could let us customize the MCs appearance like in Mass Effect. I just can't get into a story where I'm playing as a symbol of hypermasculinity.

[–] Noodle07@lemmy.world 2 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Eh I'm a guy who always play the female characters so that doesn't help either lol

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

i like to be able to customize my characters some and i really like goolocks in 5e. i am having so much trouble with will's storyline in bg3. i've dipped in act 2 due to hey look a squirrel like 5 times now.

Should be smacking Nintendo. I would have bought a Switch 2 on day one just to play my Switch 1 games with slightly better performance. Now I'm just skipping the console on principle.

[–] OakTree@lemmy.zip 4 points 20 hours ago

I’d like to smack Bethesda for making zero content mod breaking updates multiple times a year, and Steam too for forcing those updates on a 10+ year old single player game. At this point they have killed the modding scene in favor of paid mods and hyping up their fucking TV show.

SMACK

[–] Pixel_Jock_17@piefed.ca 3 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Wait. Are you telling me switch 2 can play my physical switch 1 games? Thats insane.

I have a good deal for the online expansion through a family plan and I heard they also don't let me use the GameCube emulator on switch 1!

[–] LucidNightmare@anarchist.nexus 4 points 21 hours ago

I don’t own one but I think so. The issue the OP here is talking about is they want you to purchase a $10-$20 “upgrade” to take advantage of the better performance of the Switch 2.

Thats incredibly stupid and anti consumer.
