Is this slop? The shading is sensible and consistent, their weight is represented on the couch cushions, and the style is relatively common (though that could go either way).
I’m genuinely asking, because I don’t know what signs people look for other than those.
OC is apparently a Reddit post explicitly stated by the author as being AI-generated.
Before finding that, the lack of an artist mark, tacked-on caption, missing colouring on the left woman's skirt, and general face vibes were flags for me, but we're at the point where even a pretty low-effort affair like this is good enough to make it ambiguous.
To be fair, she’s also smoking a cigarette on her couch with no ashtray.
The faces honestly look like smbc faces to me, which has got to sting for Zach wienersmith.
Nah, smbc faces seems more natural tbh, i don't really know how to describe it but there is something about the faces made by AI that looks off

One look at the characters faces show me the same generic generative AI slop eyes and expressions I've seen a million and a half times now. On top of that, some very unnatural looking lines.
Just overall a very low effort pun about AI with an equally low effort slop illustration, in my opinion.
I had the same question once and the answer was yes. Not because of the quality of the content was good or bad, but because it was AI generated. In short, always slop if created by AI regardless of quality.
