That's because Ubuntu is the standard devops platform for intellectually challenged software engineers who don't like choosing a quality development platform because they fear lack of documentation since Ubuntu was the distro standard for 15+ years.

Hence why its also highly used as a podman/docker image base.

And why actual linux users tend to switch or pick a superior distro.

Sorta related but recently I had a DDR4 3600 16Gb stick die on me and G.Skill honored their lifetime warranty with a 2 week turnaround time which was awesome because I originally bought the kit for $60 and it was now $230.

Pretty much a customer for life now lol.

They claim its for spam prevention which is why most ISPs actually also block outgoing SMTP port 25.

The dumb thing is, all it really does is push spammers onto using botted/stolen accounts which work way more effectively, and everyone else is forced to set up their email with Google or Microsoft.

If your domain isn't big enough to be recognized, all that SPF and DMARC won't mean crap to them.

I remember when youtube basically only had one format and I'm pretty sure it was 240p lol.

SXM to PCIe adapters already exist hehe

Not to mention my dumbass would chuck money at a whole server just to throw it in my home lab.

Me watching people take MCU seriously after endgame 7 years ago in which it became painfully obvious Disney ran out of ideas just like they did with every other franchise they own.

I like how these only became a problem because Meta made them which meant a bunch of morons bought it.

Hidden and pinhole cameras have been a commercially available thing for decades, even on glasses.

Hell they even made one as a kids toy you could buy.

Worst one is when they replace an actually goated in house tool for some bloated SaaS nonsense because they didn't want to spend the extra 10k on some engineer's salary to maintain it but are willing to spend 50k for a completely new and untested replacement product.

webp will always be funny to me because it was made exclusively by Google to reduce lossy file size for faster HTTP transfer, but then when JPEGXL was released with better lossy compression and the ability to load graphical data progressively by quality instead of line by line bitstream, Google switched to AVIF instead and doubled down on even more lossy compression because they just want to save cloud costs and don't care about image quality.
