But I get it, morality and ethics are very broad and gray, and people differ in what they think is okay. Some people would feel uncomfortable and do what they can to avoid it, while others think, eh, no harm, no foul, I'm just looking, right?
I do have to wonder what feelings if any the latter get if they get caught doing it. Again, probably a mix.

A habit of mine, to type something into search suggestions that my brain thinks might not be right. First thing that comes up with "amoc" is "amoc collapse news". Whee.

Using LLMs that way with the knowledge that it is a sort of mirror of yourself works much better than pretending it's an actual consciousness that understands you. Think of it as a modern journal or diary that you can put thoughts into and then get back more organized, maybe with some ideas to branch from.
The loss is the imagined future that you would have continued to grow in your mind into something that becomes regret for a non-existent thing. Find out if there's anything there. If there is, great. If not, then you know where you stand and can use your energy for things that have potential.
A bonus for just saying something without expectations is that you'll be more yourself, so anything that does happen is based on a realistic setting and not some planned outcome that distracts you.
