Yes I'm referring to Salt Typhoon. It is bonkers that this way, basically any phone/text conversation can be surveiled by not only the NSA, but by a foreign government.

I have two contacts. My wife, who I text/communicate with more than anyone else, and a long distance friend.
It took begging and pleading for years to get my wife to agree to it. She finally agreed after it came out that the phone network was likely hacked by China.
I tried to get another friend to use it, at whick point he asked if that was the app at the center of whiskey leaks. He never installed it.

To me it seems the root of the problem is that humanity depends on fossil fuels for energy.
AI data centers are just one of many things contributing to CO~2~ emisions.
Lond tsory short, humanity needs to start getting it's energy from non CO~2~ emmiting sources (solar, wind, hydro, and nuclear).

This is beyond fucked up. There should be laws in place such that if a company is found to be using CSAM in any way, the company ceo and anyone else involved in the work that uses it is personally criminally liable. No hiding behind a corporate shield with this stuff.
