So far, the only things that the Sociopathic Oligarchs and Government seem to be excited about is using AI for either surveillance, or to take jobs. I haven't seen one example of it being useful for anything that would benefit the average Citizen.
Give me one reason that people should be happy about AI.
If you like it today, you can do it again tomorrow. But if you put if off until tomorrow, and like it, then you have to live with the knowledge that you could have done it another previous time, but you blew it.
It's okay, it only lasts about 40 years.

Americans are very wary of nuclear anything, because we know that our government will allow sociopathic corporations to cut corners until it fails, and spews it's poison over a quarter of the nation. And they'll just dump the nuclear waste in our lakes and rivers.
And if they get caught, they'll pay a fat fine to the government, but nothing substantial will change.
It works in Europe where the governments care about their citizens, and can be trusted to protect them for the most part. Here in America, our government despises us.

I really did t know much about him at that point, but tended to respect him because he was doing some interesting tech stuff. Then he went off the deep end about the cave rescue, without understanding ANYTHING about the situation, and I understood all at once who he really was. I haven't seen anything since that would make me alter my perception. In fact, the more I learned about him, the more I realized that I was perfectly correct in realizing that his ego is far larger than his intellect.
I read an article not long ago that put it in really good perspective. In the not so distant future, when we look into the night sky, there will literally be a single natural star, among every 15 stars (or something like that). It was truly alarming.
Since the beginning of time, trillions of humans and other creatures have gazed at the night sky out of awe, romance, navigation, science, religion, or just sheer beauty, and now these Sociopathic Oligarchs are going to STEAL that core human experience from every future human, just so they can be a little richer, and abuse us a little harder.
When the time comes for these parasites, they deserve absolutely no mercy.
