Except I never said you were factually incorrect, since that seems to be the most important thing for you to get out of this exchange.

They signed a 20-year lease 10 years ago so they feel like they have to use the building.

Sorry teachers there's just no room in the budget for raises. Oh and we're adding 10 more students to all of your classes too.

The future of this planet is a desert wasteland. They can rule over the fucking ashes. Nothing beside remains.

Except anyone doing a Google search is actually "entering a prompt to gemini". Healthy skepticism is as valuable as gold in the time of AI and deepfakes.

Interesting thought. Alan Watts has one that's kind of in the same vein.

Imagine you could control every aspect of your dreams, what happens, how long, everyone and everything. The first thing most of us would imagine is 100 years of absolute pleasure. Fulfilling every fantasy we could think of. And we'd wake up and think, "That was pretty good" and we'd want to do it again. And again. And again. And eventually, you'd get a little bored. So maybe one night you have a dream where you don't know exactly what will happen. It gets your heart pounding again. That little excitement of "not knowing". And so, over time, you let less and less things be under your control. A little more, night, after night, after night, until eventually, you are dreaming the life you are currently living. Except you're actually living it.

The government has told them it will pay whatever costs are needed in order to complete their ultimate surveillance state utopia.
