Me are going to buy glasses.
As a non-native speaker, it has always been weird to me, but this is still considered a normal, grammatically correct conversation:
- Who is buying glasses?
- Me.
You still wouldn't say "me am going to buy glasses".
While "I and a friend" seems to make more sense to me, considering all the weird stuff present in English, I'm fine letting this slip.
I was being 'funny'.
I chuckled. If you hadn't posted that, I was gonna comment "me buy glasses."
That's kind of an informal shorthand. The formal correct answer would be "I am."
