Half of the biggest names on YouTube have become millionaires off of the platform and all know each other professionally if not personally. I don't understand why they complain about the difficulty of dealing with youtube and their incredibly unreliable management when they literally have the money, the popularity, and the business acumin to create their own, far better version of YouTube and take huge swsths of YouTube's viewership with them.

Mr. Beast may be a predator and a sociopath, but if he did a coutdown and give away for a month advertising his permanentl move to something like Nebula, then ported everything but a single video explaining why, he wouldn't even need to invest in the business, the subscriptions he'd bring in alone would rocket them into the top slots for streaming.

I'm not sure, I think a good fraction of the incom the megacreaters have is from toddlers

It is, and they're not beholden to regulations like TV is so they can literally tell their audience to throw a tantrum until their parents install the new app they use.

They already did though? It's called Nebula.

A direct competitor to YouTube isn't something you start with a few hundred million at this point I'm pretty sure. YouTube has only really turned profitable in the last few years... If they're even profitable now. Google ran it at a loss for a long time to maintain their ad dominance.

I literally mentioned nebula in my comment. The problem is nebula doesn't have the the majority of the names. It's now a few years old, it's stable, but it will never compete in the media market if everyone is still on YouTube.

I now start seeing a trend that boobs are censored. Like, not naked boobs, but literally just the chest area of fully clothed women.

And from previous experiences with censorship, that's just gonna be a thing now probably. Absurd.
