It's never good enough

I would give this kind-of-opposite answer, if otherwise my answer would be far, far longer.

If someone asks which ice cream flavours you like and you can just say "Raspberry I don't like, that's it", no need to go through hundreds of options.

Not rage, more disapproval or disgust. And I had to think why it's so unsettling first, but I think I got it:

Because of the vanity of making it about themselves.

Doesn't help that most of the time they get so many upvotes exactly because so many people think the same thing. Simplified, someone posts "what is your favorite color", and they get thousands of upvotes on a comment that says "red". That's not about cumguzzler69's comment writing career.

But no, this is their peaking in highschool moment, gotta make thousands more read some useless fluff text showing they are under the impression everybody thinks they are so great that it warrants an award speech.

That's why it's not the same if it's a long comment where somebody put some real effort into explaining something from their area of expertise, and things like that.

I mean, I understand the first 15 minute talk with some hiring manager, before the real interview, to align rough expectations and filter out absolute zeroes without bothering the skilled workers. I wouldn't want to talk to all of them either when I got work to do.

But yeah it's crazy out there.

I now start seeing a trend that boobs are censored. Like, not naked boobs, but literally just the chest area of fully clothed women.

And from previous experiences with censorship, that's just gonna be a thing now probably. Absurd.

??? Bro complaining how tired he is after working 30 minutes, I guess

The banana flavours are also both real banana flavours.

That comparison just has so many health issues it should be taken to the back and put down

Well... so is a hammer.

And if that fits the definition now, we probably strayed too far from the original intention of this post by now.

Well it's my point that the question "is X a Y" is not answered by listing shared facts of X and Y.

Those facts need to be part of THE DEFINITION of Y to be relevant.

If you start from that end with the Wikipedia definition, you can stop 4 words in: "Cults are social groups[...]". AI is not a social group, therefore AI is not a cult.

Nah.

We have pattern recognition. You recognize some similar patterns between these 2 things. Nothing wrong with that, but doesn't mean that it means anything.

In fact, most things you can find some similarities between. You could probably replace one of your 2 things with, say, "marriage", and still go through the same points, and think of something to say about it.
