They can do that when instructed to do it.

One of the article's sources has a link to this Reddit thread (view it on RedLib), which has someone recording the ad. The article also uses official BMW websites as sources.

P.S. that was a very boring ad

Stopping the development of larger and larger models because of the unmanageable environmental cost it brings: ❌
Slowing down AI development because of fear of AGI: ✔️

How? Are you suggesting that people will now show criminal evidence online just to prove that they got a cease and desist? That would be beyond stupid, and I don't think there's anything in the article that suggests it. There are other ways to prove it, such as asking Flock's legal team (if they say they did, it's because they did), or verifying if the letter has a consistent format and return address with other cease and desist letters that the legal team sent.

If I were you, I'd tape the glasses in the places where the cameras and microphones would be if they were Meta glasses. That way, people who look at the glasses would think that even if you actually had cameras and microphones in your glasses, you taped them. I'm not sure if this would work, but I think it's worth a try...

That is, however, not how the rest of the planet works. [...]

Great read.

I wish the article had examples. It would be cool.

It's unfortunately not that simple. The AVIF doesn't load at Jerboa, for example :/

I don't think they care about those markets (even though they could make a lot of money out of them)

Wow, what a stupid way to lose your audience
