In a sane country, a terms of service doesn't waive your rights to your legal minimum protections including privacy rights. In USA, I'm not so sure.

Yeah I tried increasing voltage, decreasing voltage, resetting BIOS to default settings, etc. I tried everything you could think of but nothing helped.

I did see a post on reddit from someone else with the same MCE hardware errors in Linux that I was getting, with the same random rebooting, and their 5900X ended up dying too.

Bad luck. I started getting random reboots, the reboots started happening more and more frequently. I tried a few kits of spare RAM I had laying around, reboots kept happening. I replaced the PSU with a brand new one because mine was a decade old, reboots persisted. I replaced the CPU on a whim (with an upgrade if it was fine), problem went away entirely, not a single reboot since.

I feel so justified for doubling down on Zen 3, and replacing my dead R9 5900X with an R9 5900XT lol

I've been hearing Linux music for the past 9 years lol it's incredible how much it's improved as a desktop OS over that time.

AI has been helpful for my job, sure, but the cost in terms of societal damage is so great it makes me wish AI were never created.

It's an AI generated image lol

I admit, as an outsider looking in, I am a bit surprised how many people are okay with these jokes.

It's just a joke until it isn't, and then it isn't so funny. However, I do get that it can literally just be a joke and nothing more, but I do have a hard time compartmentalizing it like that.

With that said, just like anyone else here, I'm not really a fan of mass surveillance either so I obviously feel conflicted.

I don't agree.

The fact that it's a collaborative online encyclopedia is great, and especially because it has so many contributors.

A collaborative online encyclopedia with a smaller number of contributors makes it less useful, just like a one-time copy of a collaborative online encyclopedia with a larger number of contributors makes it less useful. However, that does not make it entirely useless.

I have an older archived copy of Wikipedia. I should probably update it some time.

Games industry is somehow infinitely more corrupt.

If only they could have done this with games.
