they wouldn't be able to do shit if we didn't enable them to do it; point the anger at the right place.

I was offering a plausible explanation that could address @vogi@piefed's confusion about your downvotes and the narrative I was referring to was the one that @justsomeguy@lemmy.world was sharing.

It seems that the two of us are in closer alignment on this question than you and @justsomeguy@lemmy.world

it has to start somewhere because the system, as it currently is, is not sustainable.

either we start it ourselves in the way that's the most beneficial to us or nature will force it upon us and it doesn't care if it's helps or hurt us.

i can speak from experience on this: merely having a faang company on your resume will always work to your benefit and these people are making a lot more money than any of us ever will -- there's no reason to pity these people and never believe that you and they are on the same playing field.

i love these down votes against pointing out the irrationality of the narrative that you must uppend your entire life to stop being an asshole.

and that's despite the common knowledge that there's a better chance at higher pay if you switch jobs. lol

none of the components are being used to assemble this self imposed panopticon sounded sinister because they were whitewashed through marketing -- that same device that can keep track of your movements and who you talk to was adopted by everyone because it was marketed as a fun and convenient way to connect with friends.
