Weren’t the extra graphics from the remaster update an optional setting?

That’s the worst rendering of la Sagrada Família I’ve ever seen

I keep having the issue where I ask AI to do one small but tedious task, e.g. a refactor, and it sloppifies the rest of the code while it’s at it

It’s a long CGI tech demo, similar to Avatar (the blue people one)

My last PC purchase was in 2021, which seems to have been just about the optimal time to buy before everything went to shit

I’ve had several 3.5mm jacks fail. I’ve yet to have a USBC port fail, but I’ve also had fewer USBC ports and for fewer years.

We should pass a law that all knives have to know what purpose they are being used for and should refuse to be used for stabbing or otherwise hurting people.

A few years ago they made some changes to how extensions work (iirc it was supposedly aimed at improving privacy by restricting what extensions can access).

These days I use a paid iOS/macOS specific ad block app. It was like $3 one time purchase and it works great.

Gemini is a completely different project.

The term “AI” is rather overloaded these days.

AlphaFold uses a combination of machine learning and physics simulations to predict the shape of a protein given its chemical formula.

Gemini is a Large Language Model which uses machine learning to predict text completion.

They both use “machine learning” but the machine learning models are wildly different. Machine learning is a technique that’s basically a fancy curve fitting approach. The curve AlphaFold is trained to mimic maps chemical formulas to shapes, while the curve Gemini mimics maps a text input to probabilities for predictions of the next letter(s).

AlphaFold is Google’s AI approach to protein folding…

Sure but that’s also the reason stuff like this isn’t GPL. For-profit software simply isn’t going to use the give-away-for-free license.
