I guess it's good if your vehicle goes up in flames after being hit by a tanker or something. Grabbing my dashcam's SD card might not occur to me on the way out of escaping my burning vehicle.

I dunno. Microsoft seems to suddenly be concerned enough about their declining user base to start doing things users actually want.
Showing my age here, but I feel it's likely to be a corporate analogue to the movie Highlander - they gain power by chopping each other's heads off (I'll leave which one to the imagination), progressively shrinking the number of immortals with the tagline of "there can be only one" being the goal.
Hell, even before AI there were signs. Half the mechanics in our shop can't diagnose shit unless there's an error code shown when they plug in the computer.
That last bit is something I think for once I'm glad not to know about.
