In Europe, maybe. I fully expect the remaining three carriers in the USA (Dish doesn't count, sorry) to start "locking down" their networks again just like they used to, preventing "unauthorized" devices from connecting. It's why they're pushing for eSIM-only devices, so you can't move your SIM around without their okay (and likely a fee).
Tim Cook's not smugly arrogant & knows how to smooth things over, grease the right wheels, etc. Sundar Pichai... not so much.
And how does Google's forthcoming lockdown play into all that?
I knew there was something fishy about that reporter's story!
Now that both China and Japan have recently demonstrated having reusable rockets, SpaceX's cash cow has lost its luster.
