This industry relies on innuendo and bots to fill comments on Reddit, anything but actual clinical trials with placebo controls. Same thing with terpene sleep aids.
Hundreds of drivers panic mash the wrong pedal every week.
Maybe if there weren't so many scam artists and ambulance chasers, they wouldn't need black boxes.
Toyota avoided millions in lawsuits with black box data that showed the crying moms on TV were lying.
Tacoma is a huge culture. The reason why they get stolen so much is they have such a good reputation in Africa and Eastern Europe. No one stealing an F150 to sell abroad.
The issue is when you build in North America, you have to deal with local parts suppliers for all parts and subassemblies. Then you have a problem of the North American culture of poor quality control and maximizing profit margins only. So you can have a great design, which works in Japan with Japanese suppliers, but then it falls apart with local parts makers in Canada and US. Some sub-assemblies cross the border 2-3X which just amplifies the typical shit quality of manufacturing in North America.
Why are phones even working in cars? These devices have sophisticated 6 axis sensors, and it is easy to tell if a user is a passenger or a driver. Or just fucking disable them once they are moving at a set speed. The world can survive without phone connectivity for a car ride.
30,000 a year are slaughtered in the US alone, despite ABS, TC, ESC, various air bags, etc. but the solution is to make them more like tanks without addressing the actual cause of the problem.
I'm kinda surprised the US lawyer industry hasn't tried a class action suit.
Something about this vehicle not mentioned: Because of the easily replaced plastic panels, insurance should be a lot less expensive.
But of course, meth heads are going to start stealing panels now.

Neither are small.
