No corporation wants unaided capitalism, that is way too even a playing field, that is virtually socialism. They want capitalism with quiet government aid but its not communism.
Google did not just switch emphasis to shorts to compete with tiktok but also for reasons of space. Prior to the switch access to modern camera technology was beginning to allow very large numbers of users to upload ten minutes of 2160p content that was around 5GB a time. This was clearly a storage problem and Google had to shift those people toward choosing to make much smaller uploads.
Has it got a powerful AI model, it should let people use that then rather than the dreadful one it hawks now.
We've got lumps of it 'round the back.
Yahoo for a while was becoming the world wide web, messenger, clubs, search, email and games all engaged with on a single identity, even turned down an offer to buy Google. Then it packed it all away and went home.
Machine intelligence wont hate us, it might even feel some affection for us, and it won't have cause to do us harm as we are not a threat. The reason we will fade away over generations is loss of position. All of the science and exploration will be done by machines and at a level we cannot even follow. For a race that is intellectually accustomed to seeing itself in a very favourable light this will be a bitter pill. Too bitter probably, we will realise we are now the dogs and just evaporate into history.
I am not sure anything about that is good.
Depression might best be defined as an inability to see a viable future for yourself and they are working night and day towards their own extinction.
