i hear the gambling industry as a whole is actually kind of struggling (outside of sports), as the stock market is more accessible than ever and that's the biggest casino around really

i forsee a 6/3 ruling overruling this is favor of gambling soon

nah, they're basically the best shovel sellers around. practically all their deals take payment up front for the hardware (+lease obligation) on top of some form of constant monetization for the compute used a/o various types of financing schemes (that involve getting outside parties to foot the bill).

jensen knows this game very well and is playing everyone else superbly.

it's obviously a bubble and they will correct along with everything else eventually but compared to the rest NVDA will likely come out far far ahead of everyone else because they bring in actual revenue.

in theory, in practice you just need to be convincing enough to get greedier/dumber people to pay for your shit in the gamble they might get more in return later. (they like to call themselves "investors", but most are just degenerate gamblers) and then cover your own ass if/when the house of cards tumbles.

building and popping bubbles, and fleecing as many people as possible throughout the whole thing, is what the US ~~financial markets~~ casino is literally designed to facilitate

eh, stonk market is one big rigged casino. guarenter you spcx shoots to moon around when Musk's personal share-lockup period ends

[–] IronBird@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

they did alot more than just spit on his corpse

[–] IronBird@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

considering Musk's lockup period is the last (and largest) to end, my $ would be on it pumping before then

it's 100% legal for them to just buy all the data they want, which is what they do anyway. it's taxpayer $ anyway, so why should they care.

this ruling just says they can't forcibly acquire that data, nothing about not buying it

reality has a well known left-wing bias
