People who play the more involved and serious sim racing games look down on it because (IMO) its the most accessible for casual gamers.

Thats why Gran Turismo haters can fuck off.
I owned a ps4 already and Id owned Gran Turismo as a casual gamer before I decided to give sim racing a go. I bought a $200 used wheel and pedals off marketplace and built a cheap rig for about another $200.
It might be "Simcade" or whatever elitist gatekeepy shit people want to say but my total investment to suck at simracing is $500. You can spend $10,000 and still suck at Iracing.
I am a huge car guy. Removing an engine MAKES SENSE to me, I understand on a fundamental level how to get the best out of an engine and drivetrain but if I have to do literally any custom wiring I farm it out to a spark wizard who can tame the magic pixies that run up and down the rainbow spaghetti. FUCK WIRING.
While I dont understand windows "fundamentally" Ive also been screwing with it since 1995, it makes sense. Linux just doesnt to me.
Also YT might be a soulless big tech giant with highly questionable ethics but they are literally a modern technological marvel with a how-to video on pretty much anything, niche and hobby content that "tv" and streaming would never touch and literally endless pure entertainment...
They are not now nor have they ever been a public service. Frankly its a minor miracle that in this day and age that they have a purely advertising supported option for access.
"You know what would make this more interesting... MULTIBALL!!!"

I am a petrolhead, I love cars, but even if I won the lottery (and I mean a BIG win) I could never justify spending more than $250,000 on a single car. I believe thats the price point where you are buying a flex not a car. $250k buys you (or gets you built) an absolutely top shelf truck, sports car, 4x4 or family vehicle, any number of incredibly cool vintage cars or one absolutely mental amateur race car.
Even then, theres maybe 5 cars Id consider dropping that kind of cash for, EVEN THEN I dont think I could justify having more than 1 of the 5.
