As we investigate and prosecute MAGA crimes, any fines and confiscations, which should be harsh (including the confiscation of entire estates of treasonous families like the Trumps or the Ellisons), should be put into the America First Fund. Anytime a corporation or a politicians says they aren't going to do something, it means they're thinking about that subject, and they are definitely going to do it.

We make far more decisions to NOT do something, and if someone doesn't want to do something, they just don't do it, they don't tell everybody. We don't talk about the things we aren't going to do, we talk about things we ARE going to do.

Years ago, I was in a national managers conference call meeting, and HQ started it by saying "If there are rumors of lay-offs in your office, shut them down. There are no plans for lay-offs at this time." I don't remember what the rest of the meeting was about, but we all walked saying "Lay-offs are coming."

Sure enough, within two months, I was out of a job, along with a bunch of others. Within a year, several branch offices were closed. We weren't worried about it at all, until they brought it up in the meeting.

Sure, this tech isn't ever going to start directly killing people it has determined are a problem, flipping off life support machines, crashing autonomous vehicles, etc.

They need to learn that class is a place to focus on learning, and phones interrupt that learning. You think it's an opportunity to learn self discipline, but what about the kids that aren't as capable of that? You just let them miss their education because you allowed them to play on their phone in class, hoping they'd learn phone discipline instead of the curriculum?

Science and English classes are for Science and English, not phone discipline. They can learn phone discipline at home, and having significant breaks from constant dopamine hits throughout the day will help them do that.

When I was a student in the pre-cell phone era, you couldn't walk into class with a boom box or small tv, and expect to enjoy those in class, even with headphones. Phones are the modern equivalent.

Everything new tech that comes along can be used for bad, and you can absolutely count on bad people figuring out how to use it.

It is totally predictable, and it's up to the rest of us to figure it out, too, and make sure those people get stopped early. But that's not what happens. Those at the top don't want anything slowing down their tech, so they are fine with it being used for corruption, as long as nothing slows them down.

This IS how you deal with phones responsibly. When kids get out in the real world, they'll have to work and interact with the world around them without the constant hits of dopamine from their phone. Asking them to not be scrolling their phones while in class is the LEAST we can do.

If I was a teacher, there would be a basket next to the classroom door, and everyone would have to drop their phone in it when entering the classroom. Anyone caught with a phone in class would get a 5 page essay on the addictive properties of phones.
