42 is objectively the best number since it is the answer to life, the universe, and everything.

Yeah, because x isn't known and there is no result to resolve it to

[–] Tja@programming.dev 7 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

42 is the answer to EVERYTHING. Including your question.

When my kid does 6-7 I do the same gesture saying 8-9. It also means nothing and it's bigger, so "I win". Annoys the hell out of them.

[–] Digit@lemmy.wtf 7 points 3 weeks ago

"Why was 6 scared of 7? Because 7 8 9."

(that works better spoken, than in text. ... 7 ate 9.)

I go with "Ya, 42 right? I love Hitchhiker's guide. You are never going to go wrong with a guy Hitchhikers reference with me.". And then I go for a high-five that never gets returned. This shuts the entire thing down in such an amusing way.

I mean well yeah. The other numbers actually have some kind of meaning 67 is just nothing.

My favorite thing is the boomer anger towards 6-7

"Back in my day, our funni numbers mean something, and we wore onions on our belts, as was the fashion of the time"

[–] GeneralEmergency@lemmy.world 18 points 3 weeks ago (4 children)

Witnessing the boomerfication of millennials in real time is a trip.

What's Jenny's number again?

As I said repeatedly, if a store asks for a phone number for a rewards number, use this with the local area code. You will be surprised how often it works.

Execute Order 66

McDonald’s is always a fun time with my friends if that’s our number. No one else bats an eyelid however.

But Christ when 67 appears 🫩

6 times 6 equals 36. Add every number between 1 and 36 and it equals 666.

What does it mean!?

I was in a (synth|dark)wave party last week and the DJ was doing this build up and just before the drop someone screamed (like really loud) SIX SEVEN!!!! and the build up paid with that. Everyone around me was laughing their ass off while dancing. 5/7 would drop 67 again.

I recently had to go to a building whose address was 6769. I literally wouldn't be able to remember it were it not for that number
