Funny, one of the first arguments I had about AI was with someone who insisted it would be incredibly helpful at predicting protein folds.

So this may be why Google is closing AlphaFold; AI is already doing it.

If you have no idea what Alphafold is, why comment on it. Fucking Lemmy....

What I mean is I thought it was implied that AlphaFold is shutting down because Gemini can simply continue the work better.
