Many states have closed primaries
I think you can freely change affiliations in those states prior to the election, as a lot of people join the other party to vote for the guy that they think is less electable when they know their own guy already is going to get it.
I can't even compute why anyone would want to do that, much less imagine ‘a lot of people’ doing it. Is that, like, throwing a pity bone to the less-electable guy? Could this be how the US got Trump?
Yall's political shenanigans are fun, but you need ranked voting yesterday.
Oh it makes a lot of sense if the ones pushing the strategy know the electorate. The democrats don't clearly. It is a part of how the prez got elected I am sure, but if done right it is quite effective.
