This right here. I am in a LDR with my partner and we only use discord to talk. I have tried moving us to another platform but she doesn't understand the big deal.
i wish my situation was that understandable, for me the other side is mostly just "I have nothing to hide, why should I care and upend everything because of it??" and the fact there is no real viable alternative that gives you even most of the stuff that discord does.
Complacency is the death of privacy.
A good argument I have here is that you also decide for everyone else that they don't have anything to hide
