I would expect the Marxist-Leninist recommendation would be for such an institution to be founded by the state, and owned by the workers that created it. Instead, this would be a capitalist government using taxes on what little wealth the workers in a capitalist system have to sustain a failing business created by capital.

Why would an ML user support a capitalist bailout? Unless of course… the capitalism is coming from inside the Marxist-Leninist house! Ahhhhhhh!!

This is otherwise known as a TAXPAYER FUNDED BAILOUT. Socialize the loss, privatize the gain.

Let them burn in the fire they set.

Wow, Garfield has some rockin’ knockers. No wonder Jon never married.

Their fancy new AI can go rogue, escape containment, and hack other companies. But surely, this advanced technology can’t be applied moderate Facebook ads!

Really shows you where the focus is.

I’m sure the FBI will be dispatching a team of experts to immediately investigate the servers at Meta, seize and analyze the offending content, and rescue the children being abused.

How about another congressional inquiry with Zuck’s robot doppelgänger?

Or, maybe the latest rogue Meta AI could be used to regulate Facebook advertising content instead of boosting stock price.

Mandate that websites support ad-blocking? Stop using Facebook?

What am I talking about? None of that will happen of course, that would be insane! Let’s just continue on as if everything is normal, because that’s what this is now. This is what’s normal in a world with the Meta corporation.

Fun fact: Microsoft will try to guess your passwords to open and scan your encrypted archives when uploaded to OneDrive.

Microsoft also hands your BitLocker recovery keys to the government on request.

Microsoft also uses your local machine’s GDID to deanonymize and track you across the internet for the government.

These are paid surveillance services Microsoft provides to the government, paid for by your tax dollars. No wonder they desperately want to force you to use OneDrive.

This warrantless mass surveillance technology chain can also easily be used to silence dissent, chill speech, and oppress by race, religion, gender, sexuality, pregnancy status, and any other status so deemed problematic by those with state power. This is not a power delegated to the government by the constitution, and it was not built to protect the people.

We accept impositions on our liberty for the protection of the general welfare. Did this actually protect us?

Jenny (the boat) survived colliding with the dock and survived a storm that destroyed the rest of the shrimping fleet, leaving Forrest and Lt. Dan to be lifted from poverty, allowing Lt. Dan to reconcile with God and his self-hatred.

Google already has more money than God, and is monetizing AI to kill God and steal his money.

Has this guy even seen this movie?

Have you tried firing all the nurses and just not giving anyone healthcare?

Following the same legislative and narrative pattern as the EU for “Chat Control”, similar laws and rhetoric are now cropping up in the US. The narrative is “save the children from porn” but the action is censorship, mass surveillance, and the elimination of privacy on the Internet.

As of this writing, Wisconsin lawmakers are escalating their war on privacy by targeting VPNs in the name of “protecting children” in A.B. 105/S.B. 130. It’s an age verification bill that requires all websites distributing material that could conceivably be deemed “sexual content” to both implement an age verification system and also to block the access of users connected via VPN. The bill seeks to broadly expand the definition of materials that are “harmful to minors” beyond the type of speech that states can prohibit minors from accessing—potentially encompassing things like depictions and discussions of human anatomy, sexuality, and reproduction.

Wisconsin’s bill has already passed the State Assembly and is now moving through the Senate. If it becomes law, Wisconsin could become the first state where using a VPN to access certain content is banned. Michigan lawmakers have proposed similar legislation that did not move through its legislature, but among other things, would force internet providers to actively monitor and block VPN connections. And in the UK, officials are calling VPNs "a loophole that needs closing.

DEF CON 33 - Post Quantum Panic: When Will the Cracking Begin, & Can We Detect it? - K Karagiannis

Due to recently published algorithmic improvements (1399 qubits @ 2048 bit key length for Shor's) and leaps being made in quantum computing hardware (IBM Starling @ 200 logical qubits in 2029, and IBM Blue Jay @ 2000 logical quibits from 2033 and on), encryption is in danger of State-sponsored and high end-criminal attacks as soon as 2030. Particularly susceptible are crypto-currencies like Bitcoin, which rely on the Elliptic Curve Discrete Logarithm Problem (ECDLP) and are attackable by Shor's factoring capability on a predictably feasible quantum computer.
