I dislike Codeberg's decision.
But I would not even think of calling it fascism or censorship.

I just dislike it.
So, I move on.

And due to the fact that I do not like to run into the next dead end, I decided to self host my repositories now. The only way to be assured that tha rules do not ever change in a way that I do not like.
Yes, the overhead is substantial.
It's the trade off I chose and accept.

Indeed. The door opened a lot wider now in my perception.

Sure, but that doesn't conflict with the freedom to have an own opinion, right? And why shouldn't that opinion be an "I regret ..."?

It doesn't matter. The door is open. I won't wait for anyone to got through the door, by accident or not.

All that matters is that the option is there.

Sure. And of course I'm backing up my code somewhere else.

But this clause makes it much more likely that my repositories get deleted. And there are other services connected to it, e.g. an app via Fdroid/Obtainium. Losing Codeberg means disconnecting the apps.

Guess I'll pull all my stuff from Codeberg then, vibe coded or not.

That's dangerous as hell, because there is no guarantee that your stuff is deleted for the wrong reason.

It's their decision. But I dislike it.

I have yet to find out how.

I have started to block reddit as much as a I can already.

I wish, there would be an option in Lemmy/PieFed to hide any article that references reddit.
