Yeeeesss..., but typically it is easier to determine how reliable the person is from the test of the context.

Since Gemini is fed by the reason directly or might be fun exercise to ask it about yourself and while in some questions it will answer correctly or just loves to invent new things.

This works especially well if the person owning the account did not worry as much about privacy. So you hear many true things and also a lot of bullshit.

Well, they are all in the same club.

BTW: there is libredirect browser extension which redirects Reddit to libreddit instances.

I am saying this, so people use that instead of giving up and logging in.

There is libredirect browser extension that allows to rotate between the instances offloading load (I think safereddit.com has highest because the URL is easy to change.

The problem with AI is that while 80% of the time it will provide correct information, but 20% of time it will generate very convincingly sounded bullshit.

This is the danger of it.. You test it few times and then you start trusting it. Kind of like that farmer that destroyed his whole crop.

Really? I was thinking Europe would be leading in Linux adoption, kernel originating from Finland, distros like SuSE, NixOS etc.

The old reddit was optimized for users, then new reddit is optimized for the shareholders to maximize profit, this is why it is shitty.

It has a technical name: enshittification

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 weeks ago

Same here.

BTW: technically they just killed it.

Yeah, instead if you try to upload video on YouTube you actually have a prompt to generate more slop.

I don't buy it.

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah, of you go to their page to upload content, it now has prompt where you can generate one. It is just a stunt to fool people that they fighting and that it is hard, when in reality they want the slop as it is addictive to kids.

At the same time YouTube offers a prompt to generate more AI content.

No, this is just a stunt to claim that it is difficult to detect AI slop, when in reality they want that content as it is more addictive, especially to kids.

Actually this reminded me when I was driving toward such a small town via local freeway. There was a car that visibly tried to upset drivers driving slow when they tried to pass it they sped up. After observing it for a while I noticed there was a cop car driving in front. As soon as the freeway ended and transitioned into residential area the cop car drove into first parking lot and went the opposite way back to freeway, the car that tried to upset drivers followed them and did the same maneuver. At that point it was clear they were working together.
