I think bosses are often bored, and they need a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Excuse me while I act as Satan's lawyer, but should LLMs be able to reliably recognize a mental health crisis? At what point is the user responsible for their own actions?

Currently I'm getting forced to use the app when browsing new reddit on mobile. I can scroll about 120px before I get a "paywall" telling me to get the app to continue. Reddit is pure trash.

Are you implying that it's dangerous to drive or inadvisable to do your taxes after drinking coffee?

Caffeine and nicotine are problematic for various reasons, but they are not significantly mind-altering. Because of that, chronic use of caffeine and nicotine is not problematic with regard to being able to perform most tasks.

There are tons of issues with cannabis. It severely diminishes your ability to solve problems or concentrate on complex tasks over a period of time. I'm not in favor of people casually being drunk every day, and therefore I am not in favor of people casually smoking weed every day.

If we want people to be able to get the medical benefits of cannabinoids, like anti-emetics, pain relief, appetite, anti-psychotics et.c. we need to research their mechanism of action and synergy between each other. People who are sick do not necessarily also want to be high, especially if you have to take your medication over an extended period of time.

Likely they're just trying to hoard all of the compute in the US despite not producing many of the components, to try to create a substantive gap on AI. DARPA is not used to just being 6 months ahead. But eventually, something's got to give. If nothing else, China is catching up on chip making.

Yeah, hopefully, but even if the AI bubble bursts today new consumer chips is a year away at least.

(Sorry for being a cynic, I'm saving up for a graphics card for my nephew and I'm bitter.)

It's not interchangeable though. I don't need an A100 at home.
