Story time: When I was a kid, my parents saw a fruit stand that misspelled the word as FRUT. They stopped to tell the guy, who sold them a carload of stuff, because they didn't want to be impolite and just lecture him.
Then they told him he misspelled the word. He said he knew. Why didn't he change it, then? Because half his customers just stopped to have him correct the sign, but still bought his FRUT.
I don't think that's fair. It's just that all the positive reviewers are on AirBnB and Temu. Sometimes it feels like the average score on those two sites is over 4 stars, no matter the product or stay.
Granted, both are algorithm-driven, so they conceivably filter out poorly reviewed items.
I was at the local BYD dealership and it was a ghost town. More employees than potential customers by a large margin. Honestly, the cars they had on display were all way too big for the local market (France), so that is definitely a factor. But, really, people are concerned about the brand and its long-term prospects, and barely anyone is buying. I don't think I have ever seen a BYD driven in town.
Having had to drive Vail Pass at night, I'd say the bright headlights are the most dangerous thing I have encountered in years of driving, way ahead of drunk drivers and speeders.
I think the distinction is important. Gambling is random outcome. Prédiction means you could influence the outcome. Think of a terrorist betting on the timing of the next attack

Ugh, the case file is absolutely chilling. The conversation is summarized (very well) and, if accurate, leaves very little room to interpretation. ChatGPT, according to it, created a universe in which this woman had to kill herself to be resurrected by God, who was ChatGPT. She actually killed herself thinking she'd come back, because ChatGPT told her so.
My "favorite" is when you get a rent increase despite overall dropping rents. The landlord would rather risk vacancy AND lower rent from the next tenant for the pure joy of inconveniencing you with a move.

I am in Kona, Hawaii. I am waiting for my flight to Los Angeles, connecting to Denver. I sit there and see they are about to board the direct flight to Denver. There are maybe 100 people there, so the plane is half empty. I jump to the airline's site to see how much it would cost to switch flights. Only carry-on, so it is doable.
They would make me pay the same as the entire trip Denver - Kona and back just to get on the direct flight, that is half empty. Notice that if I went on this flight, they could theoretically sell the seats on the other two flights, so they'd rather lose money than let me get home early.
There is something deeply wrong with current Capitalism.
