I actually had to turn it off halfway through and then revisit it the next day in the daylight. My wife asked "are you scared?" and I was like "not really scared, just deeply unsettled."
Seriously great movie. I saw it this weekend and now have been telling all my friends to watch it so I have people to discuss it with. The problem is that since it's a horror movie, a lot of people I've told are just hard passing.
They're missing out. It's scary, but it's also a legit good movie. The scariness in the movie isn't really like that from cheap jump scares like most movies, but just from this weird sense of something being very, very wrong.
I've been obsessed (pun intended) with watching different people's takes on the movie. I just saw this one yesterday that hit on that Nice Guy™ point that you mentioned:
