They are absolutely delusional enough to think that THEIR company will eventually reach AGI but I don't think any truly believe these numbers.

There's been no consequences for lying, only more profit. Look at the space X ipo....The market has shown they'll pay whatever they're told to so lie lie lie.

Lying gets you customers, investors, and government subsidies. And when your competitor lies, you just have to lie harder. The grift economy.

Yeah, the fact that it's a useless endeavor (and that everyone has been pointing that out for...what, two years?) makes it worse.

You know, I'm not even sure that's fully it. I'd be just as annoyed if someone wr0t3 l1k3 th1s and I can read that fine.

Part of it is definitely the attention seeking. That's 14-year-old behavior, grow up.

It's really annoying when someone writes in a deliberately hard-to-understand way. People who do that think they're more important than they are.

My brain reads it as a p every time. I have to TRY to read it correctly. Unnecessary road bumps in making your point makes me not give a shit

They are still tracking you. This guy didn't opt in to be tracked so he could give the car wrap a try.

Unless you're implying you'd destroy the cameras. In which case, that wasn't clear but I wholly support it

I mean at least they're trying..? Your alternative isn't really a solution

Spend a large sum of money on a suit of armor vs. they can fuckin stab me

I prefer "they can fuckin stab me"

That's what I'm saying. The butler is overkill for a solved problem

He ends all of his videos with that game if he hasn't played it already that day

...so your good use case for AI is running a task apps have been able to do automatically for 20 years...?

It's like buying a robot butler to manually turn off the lights

I installed Google Earth on every machine (thanks ninite) since it came out and think I only opened it a few times during the first year to show it to people lol

They literally said "most people" in their first comment but thanks for the essay

Your anecdote is meaningless when 2/3 of the country doesn't own a gun. Turns out you can't extrapolate a data point like that

the most centrist of liberal friends

Personally not something I would be bragging about but you do you I guess
