The performance per parameter has been improving steadily though. Gemma 4 is ~4o level at a fraction of the parameters.

If the floating data center is solar powered it wouldn’t actually add any heat that the patch of ocean covered wouldn’t already be getting.
It can cut both ways though, it was used in the South in favor of racists.
