I think you have it confused with -30C which is when put on a hoodie because the t-shirt isn't enough anymore.

There's a pretty wide sidewalk physically separated from the road, with tree coverage to help with shade. You could miss it at first glance though

Buses also get separate lanes so at least some thought has been put into public transit

It's pretty walkable for a big north American city imo

baseketball

I should really get around to watching that movie. I saw it in the TV guide like 20+ years ago as a kid, but never watched it even though it sounded funny. Thanks for reminding me

Yeah... It makes a modicum of sense for cars where overhead lines are impractical and batteries heavy...

But TRAINS? Didn't we figure out electrification of trains via overhead power lines idk... nearly 150 years ago apparently? Quite literally the easiest mode of transport to electrify...

I'm assuming that in this instance a "full set of cards" just means realizing you're not the second coming of Jesus Christ himself.

Guardrails will improve too, because trust eventually becomes a competitive advantage.

Thing is, as an LLM user you don't want guardrails usually. Someone else wants it to have guardrails so you can't get all the information you want.

If you're reverse engineering something, you don't want the guardrails to say "hey this is copyrighted, I can't do this". I'm assuming terrorists don't want the guardrails to stop the LLM from giving them info on chemical weapons. And if you're religious, you probably don't want guardrails to stop the LLM from talking about religion with you

I exited out of all American ETFs earlier this year so I'm feeling good about myself lol

Yes, but that doesn't mean it was a trillion dollars that changed hands, or even anywhere close to a trillion necessarily.

[โ€“] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 6 points 1 month ago

Well yes but that doesn't mean an entire trillion dollars existed first. Valuation goes by the latest trade price, not total purchase price of all stocks.

A million people could all buy a share of something that has a million shares for 1 dollar and then the some person buys one off one of the investors for 1000 dollars and nobody's selling for any less than that. Congratulations, it's now a billion dollar company. Now some people realize it's a bubble and lower their sell price to 10 dollars. A few people buy. It's now a 10 million dollar company. 990 million was wiped off the stock market.

That obviously simplifies it but you get the point.

I'm not sure since they'd just be getting the news as soon as posted rather than ahead of time which would be insider trading

But of course insiders already get it before it's posted I'm pretty sure
