Seems pretty obvious it's not related to Musk or X. However, it's just another proprietary social network. We are all familiar with the pattern now. Proprietary network and investors eventually means enshitification.

Do yourself a favor, do Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE). It's got all the slickness of Mint, but the core is based on Debian instead of Ubuntu.
