What if you owned: weed/drugs, illegal firearms, items which could be used for potential murder, negative opinions about the fascist government?
This argument is shallow to the point where fascism is what you're advocating here for. So what, if you did own something thats not law abiding - without any credible proof there is nothing there, and non of anybody's interest.
Its the same situation where people purposely downgrade their phones to flip phones.
Sometimes simplicity is more convenient and secure. Especially when you don't need all the gimmicks a modern device has - it is a difference of paying $100 or $1000+
They said they take away the liberties of young people - they took away the liberties of all people.
At this point they're the ones creating false premises and the people dont have any real way of challenging that.

I can certainly understand, it has an abstract, minimalist appeal - however, its safety or its basic features aren't as appealing.
