Weve had a similar setup for nearly 10 years and its fricken great. We built a low spec computer using old parts from our desktops, hooked it up to our tv via hdmi, and plugged in a wireless keyboard with built in trackpad to act as the remote. We get all the same AD blocking and content access as a desktop because, you know, its a desktop but in the livingroom. My personal favorite is using a second account on discord to pull up streams on the tv from the couch while joining on my phone via my primary account for voice.
Someone gifted me a bonsai kit off amazon that i cant use because every single seed packet is an invasive plant in my area. Unless the person who gifted it to me looked up every plant type, which is a big ask for them ability-wise, there was no way for them to have known from the product listing.
I have a love hate relationship with my husbands car because of this type of "feature". Love that its a 2012 with no online connectivity or tablet displays of any kind. Hate that i, as the passenger, cant connect a device via bluetooth or change other media related settings if its in drive, only while its in park. Youd think that "feature" would disable when it detects a passenger, but no, i guess the passenger is driving just as much as the driver themselves.
