This is the kinkiest comic I've seen yet from this artist!
They do have GPS trackers inside, but those can be defeated by putting them in a metal container, underwater, or underground. Or they might be disabled if the camera is destroyed and unpowered.

So, now, when you use it to set an alarm, you'll never really know for sure if the AI fucked it up or not.
It isn't, not necessarily. But to those kinds of people, it is a bad thing, and it makes them not want to use reddit.
I doubt it's the majority of watchers, but it is the majority of time watched.
I watch an occasional half our while eating, exclusively from my subscriptions feed.
But the kind of person who just watches whatever YouTube shovels at them -- they're watching for hours and hours on end, just letting the next video autoplay every time.
I don' think there are more braindead watchers -- it's just that the braindead watchers are the ones who watch the most.
It also doesn't help that out of people who have heard of reddit, it often has a bad reputation.
Reddit has the reputation of being the social media site for incels, nerds, misogynists, and creeps. Barely one step above 4-chan. Which means there's a significant portion of potential users out there who have heard or reddit, but would never go there because they don't like the idea of going to such a place. Whether or not that reputation is truly earned is maybe up for debate, but these people will never go there to find out if it's true or not, because they're avoiding it to begin with, based on reputation.
How many of those users have simply been banned?
