New list just dropped, whoo-hoo!

No, the transparency aspect is really the biggest part of all of this. Like, do whatever you want, but make sure to state clearly what you're doing rather than hide it.

Similar to PieFed's voting quota: even admins were surprised how their own instances were behaving when the code update came through and they had no idea why it was limiting votes.

Actually, that's always been my beef with lemmy.ml: be loud and proud a tankie as you want to be - OWN that shit, you know!?! - but don't lie to people that you are "just a place to discuss FOSS". Banning people from their instance is fine and their right, but when they are disingenuous about the reason, citing a rule that does not say anything remotely close to what it really means, the way that they wield it... that tends to make people upset, you know? (And there are several communities dedicated to calling out that shit, like MeanwhileOnGrad.)

Lotta weird decisions going around. I just try to stay sane through it all... and perchance I fail ๐Ÿ˜œ

I dunno, those slime monsters might love the lettuce in the USA right about now... all that "extra seasoning", yum!? ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿคค

Fair, I guess that was more my own take-away from it than summary! :-P

Mayhaps, forsooth.

To add to what others are saying, your instance does not support Tesseract anyway, though if you read your instance sidebar text it points to Photon & Alexandrite frontends as options if you wanted to change the way that Lemmy looks to you (and if you use a browser rather than 3rd-party app).

How dare you mention this!

...

without adding how Tesseract also dislikes no pooping!

(Tbf I also dislike no pooping.)

spoilerMade you look! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Though I do hear that Tesseract is very much a fan of corn.

They claimed that they had - multiple levels even.

If we were to treat the issue straightforwardly, ignoring stock hype and such, the problem is not that the AI did as instructed, but that its maintainers were incompetent.

(But mainly greedy and lazy.)
