You may be correct but that just makes them look dumb for trying to do this in the first place. Why? Make some mechanical keyboards, retro looking monitors or other peripherals, whatever might actually make sense for the Commodore brand and style. Not a phone.

Thats the trouble with private vehicles in a nutshell. Sit idle for 95% of the time, and we need to buy models that are capable for the 1% of the drives we might want to do in a year.
Yeah, 120v15a is a pain. At least see about rewiring an outlet for 220v 15a. An electrician can often do it cheaply because its the same wires. Then you can get most of a full charge between commutes.

The whole "regulation is bad" scheme was bought and paid for with billions of dollars spent a small number of people who could make tens of billions by conducting their business without concern for the damage (economic externalities) they do. Its a transparent history and obvious on its face.
And yet so many average people go online and parrot it back, drinking the coolaid and passing it along.
Certainly a tough question. Use Lemmy, okay, but would you send financial contributions to said Tankie? I wouldn't, and I would judge someone that did. I don't think anyone can be expected to evaluate the moral virtues of the developer for every technology they use. That's a supply chain nightmare. But, given the small number of people we directly sponsor, maybe then it's appropriate to have some standards?
As a non-US citizen, I actually consider /any/ American company that has not moved to be complicit in fascism. At the same time, I havn't completely stopped patronizing American companies, so I'm not living up to my own standard. I suspect everyone is a little hypocritical.
Really? Dude has cancer and a kid in college, and yet chooses to write this. I'm pretty sure he has tough decisions. He also is very much not an uncompromising idealist, pointing to very specific solutions and dismissing others.
