The real danger has always been the database.

When even the LAPD are too embarrassed to be using your shit.
Heck, even paying for full comprehensive insurance, you still come out ahead by buying on a loan and keeping it for more than 3 years.
The crux is that decently priced loans are denied to the people who actually need it, but leases are not.
Has media ever been capable of criticising Apple? They have always been the tech media darling from what I can recall.
Around here, people typically lease their phones. The numbers are intentionally obtuse and confusing because the lease is 2 years and then you can "buy it out" for a (still rather large) sum or roll it into a new model perpetually. You also get a discount from your service plan for leasing, putting the math outside your average adults ability.
When a company says it has a "solution" for the high price, they means they have a "solution" for the big number on the sticker. Not that they actually care about affordability.
These age laws are about indemnifying the platforms from any blame when kids are harmed and setting up better identification for their surveillance capitalism through age verification systems.
The alternative would have been actually cracking down on the algorims that drive extremism and paying moderators again (you know, actually making things better). But "banning" teenagers means that next time a kid kills themselves, meta can point out that the kid broke the rules by drawing a mustache on their face to trick the age verification system. Its the kids fault for sneaking in.
You almost got it. Its not the healthcare and social safety net that made them fascists, its the in-group (that gets it) and the out group (that gets evil) that made them fascists. A modern party that wants healthcare for white people and forced emigration for brown people are not socialist, they are far right.
Indeed.
Its not far left to want nice things for your favoured in-group. That's right.
focused on expanding socialized services, like expanding healthcare, reducing costs for public transport, shortening the work week while keeping full pay,
For whom exactly? That's your answer. The OG Nazis said that kind of thing too.
Its great that they are not trying to be a universal replacement for Github but something more focussed to their community. That will encourage others to spin up their own Forgejo instances and that decentralisation is a feature not a bug.
They don't need to host everything and everybody. That kills community. They are even spending money on developing activity pub federation, just like here.
