There's a case in the US right now where a woman murdered her 3 children and tried to kill herself.

Instagram conspiracies abound that she was innocent and it was actually the husband who did it all even though the defense isn't even trying to claim she didn't do it.

There's some genuine medical malpractice shit from what it sounds like but that's American healthcare for you.

One thing, any chance you've heard of a way to have two remotes, one basically ignored gitignore (personal self-hosted storage) vs front-facing with github or similar?

I remember that happening, I think they did eventually fix that

Because the underlying problem isn't the tool.

Except when you think about if a ban were actually implemented it would absolutely be pro-entrenched companies like OpenAI and Anthropic and open weight models could be banned outright, I've already seen well-intentioned but misguided "experts" saying exactly that, BAN open weight models and pause further development, who would that benefit directly?

Except NFTs were never used to nearly even close to the same amount as AI, it had much less usecases and the one that did "catch on" was idiotic.

Crime is a symptom of a problem, not a technological advancement, apples and oranges.

AI the tool is never going away in the same way the internet is never going away. (Barring our entire civilization collapses and we lose knowledge/connectivity/life lmao)

What's crazy is you can actually learn how to do things by trying, it's crazy! I didn't know how to install Linux either when I was 12, but just searching for information I was able to learn how to do it.

I'm sure what you meant to say was, "we should add a clause to any new user generated content to give us sole control over it" ;)

As if most people self-manage their 401ks, it's almost always managed by the holding company unless someone does a PCRA or something along those lines.

Reminds me of one time when I was a child my dad got pulled over, I (unaware of what was going on) took my seat belt off.

Cop almost wrote a ticket for it.
