"Where have you been, Clark?"

"There are some rooms in the back of my furniture store."

"Wait, say that again..."

All of the examples given are specifically terms that have to do with more conservative adjacent ideologies. If the words were things like "bet" and "cap" I'd have a different opinion. I believe you have missed the subtext of this meme entirely.

NOOOOOOO!!! This is a website! It has text prior to the PDF, just put the damn article there! The website clearly already supports HTML, otherwise we wouldn't be seeing anything!

(But yes, I still like those formats, I just think it should be a no brainer for a website to actually have it's contents as HTML.)

it's already got a paragraph of text, so clearly they can put text on their sites. PDFs are ass. I do not need to print this. Even then, HTML can be printed.

Like imagine if the rest of this Lemmy comment was in a PDF... Why the fuck would I do that? That's what this article feels like.

Why in the FUCK is this a PDF?

Jesus fucking Christ, what a read. It really was the wild west days back then, huh? Sony was out there just putting straight up malware on audio CDs.

How can a company even legally give you a "license to view something" like that without advertising it as "until we randomly decide to take it down. It shouldn't be legal. They should have to say what the contract is for all the things they sell licenses for.

(At least according to this comment) this is a normal data center.

True, but the post also never says they are.

I HATE PDFS TOO. I hate them! 99.999% of the time I'm given a PDF file it would be more useful as an HTML file.

At least one of my smart phones had a way to do it. If it's still there now, it's buried much deeper.
